Blender and its HIP blunder,

On using modern-day blender 3.X in the last few months it has brought to life a lot of issues regarding support, blame for lack of support, and constant biased fanboy wars. On going onto Blender's forums you will quickly find a anti-AMD biased for Blender's Render Developer "brecht" quickly censors out anyone pointing out his blame game of AMD drivers is nothing more than scape goating the poor implementation of HIP and dropping of OpenCL entirely and refusal to update it for better performance as a claim of holding back Blender's development while a intense and more focus on any of Nvidia's new hardware based rendering engines such as cuda and optimx. The issue is this focus on Nvidia products and stray away from both AMD and Intel has caused a mountain of problems even effecting linux support, which was one of the things that got blender off the ground to begin with as back in its hay day its only saving grace was that it worked on Windows, Mac, linux, and many other kernels and distributions in which was pushed heavily by Linux users. On pointing this out to "brecht" I was immanently and heavily censored and met with gaslighting of unbiased decisions being made but it is very clear that Nvidia was focused too much and The blender foundation had donated the most to them out of Intel and AMD, on pointing this out to them I was met with more gas lighting and a quick ban as they didn't want anyone not in their cult or simply don't challenging them to change their ways.

The problems with HIP is that it lacks support for both intel, and older amd gpu's, and it lacks the ability to use any renders that depend on opencl unless you downgrade to a older version. The issues with opencl is its implementation, Using openCL allowed for a vast large massive hardware and software support that made blender popular, now keep in mind I am not saying openCL is the magic solution either. But it has left users in the past in 2.9.x and will continue to do so, and their entire blame is on AMD, they blame AMD for literally all their problems and they censor out any nay sayers pointing out the lack of support is because the rushed implementation of HIP, which again the devs primary Brecht blames on AMD. The same person that rapid fire censors out users he doesn't want posting and bans off their forums for things that really are not against the rules of their forums, especially since most of his reasonings happened off forums for his ban. Its kangaroo court with Nvidia fanboyism there, if you point out your problems on their forums its not a issue so long as you are trashing AMD or intel. But the moment you point out they are too focused on Nvidia and turning their backs on both AMD and intel users but also Linux users. HIP's initial implementation only worked on 6000 series AMD GPU's and they blamed AMD for the lack of 5000 series and older when it was their rush cut of OpenCL and rush implementation of HIP.

Blender foundation can not be trusted to continue support, and can not be trusted to not be bought out and blame others for their own issues rather than fixing the issues creating fanboy wars on their forums. Keep in mind I only found out the issues of HIP not from experience as I have a 6000 series AMD GPU but because I use linux and because I use other renders as several different options that most depend on openCL and in the search of why openCL was cut and replaced with HIP, and that there wasn't a linux update. What I found was that the linux build wasn't working with HIP in their rushed implementation, again they blamed AMD. In events of why they cut opencl, I found that they had been using a really old version of opencl and they had blamed opencl on a lack of development in blender in claiming the various bugs, all of which they again blamed amd driver issues. Their solution for blaming AMD driver issues was to blame AMD for lack of HIP support. When the solution should have been a slowly phase out process of opencl from blender and updating opencl while introducing HIP. But I guess thats my feelings and pretty much most people brecht had banned off the forums in lust of power and having that difference in opinion on their forums means your not welcome and it is very toxic. Their forums are toxic, their mods like brecht are toxic.

AMD cards vs false reality

So in the aftermath of the average reviewers ranting and wreathing about the AMD Radeon Rx 6500 xt , 6600 xt, and 6700 xt a narrative of each one being the worst cards ever after each solid release played by our narrators the reviewers I have found nearly something off about each review one after the other. They were not able to do a single test nevermind review properly where they also were trying to sell you the same brand they have all been shilling to. I found with all of their last reviews a constant lie shared among all of them as if they all read from the same script from their same financial backers. That it is literally some how impossible to do something I can be easily disprove. And that is stream and record, we had reviewers knowing this lie show off gameplay footage supposedly with the card with encoding software while others kept up the lie by pointing a camera at their screen showing comparison footage videos on a monitor. I found most of the comparison videos to be false made months in advance and comparing them to overclocked cards and cards like the Nvidia rtx 3050 to that are $379-450 most of the time it's the $450 overclocked dlss on vs the power color single fan 6500xt at $199.99 pcie running at gen 3 speeds and in some cases even underclocked to frame it as the worst gpu. In many cases they instead compare the 6500xt to a max oced triple fan 1650 super card you can't buy new anymore or a 1660 to oced that is still at $400 a card I purchased nearly 4 years ago at $300 that out performs a 3050. Which even in fake reviewer land they still try to sell you on buying the 3050 over the 1660 ti after taking max overclocked 3050 vs 1660 ti manufacture overclocked with a average of 3fps difference in favor of the 3050. Despite the 3050 on paper being massively better than the 1660 ti, it's not. Reviews are now sales pitches not a means of gathering information about a product as they are now falsifying details to sell you on it.

Corel Paintshop Pro 2022 Ultimate

This is a live stream of me trying out  Corel Paint shop Pro 2022 Ultimate and just trying to see what every tool is. So far it is between single use case scenarios and overly simple applications that need more love, work, and effort. I found that in some use cases it is worse than free tools out there as well. Find out which ones I find useful and more in the video. I am disappointed in the lack of animated gifs.

If you like what you see please like and sub.

Nvidia driver issues script

Disclaimer: This is a idea of a script for a video I may work on reflecting on the issues that I have been having for years with nvidia drivers since the purchasing of my 1660 TI which ran fine on windows but like shit on linux for the first few weeks I had it, and then stopped working so nicely once I updated the drivers on the 30 series launch driver updates they did to older cards. They pulled what I move I have seen in the past from GMOD 6-9 once gmod 10 reached a population, which is to cripple the old so people buy the new, not sure if it was intentional but I have a feeling it was.

Now this is my pc, it can do quite a lot. But I am going to tell you one thing about my PC. One important factor that has caused me to go to such a level of rage, that it has caused me to do something I never do. That is effort. Effort in this video here, effort in putting in a script. Now let me explain to you why I have such rage. It has to do with Nvidia, and its graphics cards. Keep in mind Nvidia might be a good choice for many, They might be in the top of bench mark charts, They might have the “best” real world performance. But what if I told you that was a lie. What if I told you nvidia made me switch back to windows. Yes I was a linux user primary and Nvidia made me do the one thing I never wanted to do and that is main windows again. Sure I always had windows, but it usually was in a duel boot config where I would laugh at the idea of booting back into windows, or only use it for the few programs that would simply not work in linux like a few dev tools that I would use for making games in short time.
I think I am going too far off the rails of the main topic here, so let me get back on point. Nvidia drivers SUCK, they suck hard, they suck bad. So I made the mistake of purchasing a MSI twin 7 Frozr 1660ti OC because it claimed in benchmarks to perform faster than AMD radeon 5600xt in gaming on many benchmarks including userbenchmark, passmark, and furmark. But god those benchmarks must have some biased code for Nvidia giving points for no god damn reason. They were the same damn price when comparing to a power color, which isn’t the one I would have gone for, I would have gone for sapphire as I had nothing but good experiences with sapphire cards in the past and nothing but bad problems with power color.

On using the msi twin frozr 7 1660ti oc in pretty much any linux distro the fans wouldn’t spin which isn’t a big scare at first since it is a cooler with fan zero speed on low temps. This meant when it heated up the fans should kick on right? Well No, they never would turn on. So then I had to find some exploit to the configuration files in the drivers to turn them on, and without some other fan controller application the fans would still not spin. So I got the linux equivalent of MSI afterburner Greenwithenvy. ON getting that setup I can’t remember the 2am process I did, but eventually I did get it working how it should have been working.

Finally I could use the computer without fear of it killing itself off right.
So then I tried to find all these features that all the fanboys were raging about, guess what I found. Nothing, not a thing. On trying to game I found that the performance was complete and utter garbage all of them related to the driver issues. I had found out that Nvidia was really only supporting the server drivers which were being used for two things, 1. Mining, and 2. Just displaying simple graphics on servers. Gaming, and software development was not on their agenda, neither was 3d modeling. You could literally go with a integrated graphics at this point. This ment my card in terms of linux was basically just a paper weight. This was prior to the 30 series launch drivers…. The next month would show the test of time. On launch week of nvidia 30 series cards nvidia had released a new driver set across the board for windows and linux. Having windows duo boot I checked them out, and the linux drivers. The drivers were buggy as all could ever be on windows, those same bugs would carry over to linux, I thought it was my card dying, but then when it happened to all the computers at home, and several of the computers I built for others I found myself really hating nvidia. I looked up the issues only to find them telling people to revert their drivers back, and that being the only solution. This wasn’t just issues I was having but issues 30 other machines were having that I knew of and saw on. This wasn’t a virus, or worm, It was a mass driver issue. Now here is what the bug did: It massively hindered performance on older non-30 series cards, It caused random video cutout flicker on many displays, it caused cards like my own to have delay in the temperature sensor reads and caused similar coolers with zero fan speed as an option to be delayed this was on windows. There were loads of other bugs on linux that I can’t even bother diving into. The linux drivers were unusable for most use cases at this point.

What annoyed me the most about this period is that the 30 series cards were not out yet, only reviewers had these cards, but yet the broken gimpening of older cards was already happening. On release day there was a zero day driver update fixing some issues with the 30 series cards. For the next 8 months all of these bugs would be present in the windows and linux drivers, yet no youtuber spoke out against Nvidia. Then the dam nest thing happened, hardware unboxed creates a review, a review that Nvidia doesn’t like, and in this action bans him from receiving review copies for saying something slightly off that they do not like. This to me only solidified that Nvidia was controlling the youtube scene by threatening this very same thing. This created public out cry and before the public burned nvidia down to the ground they had simply left a short apology and unbanned him and the community seemed to die down with little to no care about the issues that still plague the drivers. What annoys me about all this is the reason I didn’t get the 5600xt was because there was so much information out there about AMD’s bad drivers, but buying a nvidia card and friends and family members who I either built their PC or fixed all their PC problems with all had the similar issues I had, most either didn’t realize all the issues but 1. Now nvidia had began patching some of the issues, but it would take them a FULL year from the 30 series launch patches they did on all their old cards to get them out of the random flicker bug. Mean while I found out if I had purchased the 5600xt back in early august of 2020 I would have not encountered ANY of the bugs people were complaining about, especially on the sapphire cards. I would have had the fastest smoothest linux experience Ever experienced with the open source drivers. The linux drivers for nvidia to this day is still a buggy mess, the issues I can’t even begin to describe in gaming because each game varies on brokenness. Some games run just fine, but because of those fan issues I discussed which still exist its a hit or miss. Its playing a risk running linux with a Msi Frozr card, you may as well just shoot the card its a paper weight, nvida driver issues do not help, both the cooler, and the card, and the buggy as hell drivers are just a roll of the dice and it will kill your cards life expectancy as cooling is bugged. Heck I keep getting rid of this “NO DC” bug in windows with nvidia drivers just for it to re-appear EVERY UPDATE. ITS SO ANNOYING EVERY UPDATE I HAVE TO DO THE FIX FOR IT. EVERY UPDATE. THERE IS NO EXCUSE FOR THIS NO DC ISSUE, NONE.
