insomnia sucks

Several times a week I go into a deep sleep, sleeping up to 12-18 hours, and leaving me unable to sleep often. This is classic insomnia but it is rather common to have it, but usually people do something about it. Drug themselves usually, some try doing it non-drugged methods but fail regardless. Those who drug themselves do it often, and to the point where unintended side effects of the drugs start effecting them, and slowly over time doesn't work.

I'm not here to tell you a solution to the problem, or sell you something. I am here to tell you that it sucks, there is no real solution other than to force train your body through sleeping schedules that can be stable, which requires you to have a stable life, and just the right conditions. Along with clearing your mind, setting it at rest, and trying to force yourself to sleep, which most of the time just plain doesn't work either and if it does it only works at the most inconvenient time from exhaustion from trying to force yourself to sleep.

It could be any number of things that cause insomnia including stress, loss of time, bad sleeping schedule, chugging energy drinks & pop when not use to it, mental state, insanity, and pretty much anything and everything, light, sound, smell, taste, anything.

Some ways to counter act this: write pointless blogs with no purpose or meaning, write thoughts down, read a boring book, listen to relaxing music, meditate, EAT SOMETHING, Drink SOMETHING, tell who ever is keeping you up to shut up you are trying to sleep, put your arms up till they get tired, put your arms above your head you can breathe better kinda. GET THE HELL OFF THE COMPUTER/Game system/Phone/device you are using currently and go the hell to bed, a bed, not a chair. These are not solutions, they will not solve the problem, just possibly make it easier to do so.

Old games are making its way into Project Dream out

In the last few months I been working on dreamout, I have been incorporating more & more to the engine, adding more & more features. & now I am bringing a arcade section which will hold several arcade / multiplayer mini games. The arcade menu will be in 3d virtual arcade, but pre-rendered as construct 2(the engine that dream out is made in), doesn't support 3d fully, yes I am aware of the pay for plugins, I have many of them. I just want to do it this way, I have seen it in a lot of older games and I really want to try to make those old effects obviously in my own way.

How the menu will work is it will play a video file from animation to animation then sit at a still image till it switches. This is a method many old dos games use to do.

These games will have massive improvements over their online counter parts such as improved graphics, more enemies, improved AI, multiplayer, and much more.

These are still beta graphics in the image, they are subject to change.

This game as of right now is still looking forward to a possible WiiU release.

The lost knowledge photography of film

For many years I have had knowledge that is no longer relevant to the average photographer, which grants so much knowledge into how  cameras use to work, and what you can do with them.

For instance with old photography you could produce so many effects without ever using a computer, or editing with photo paper. Pin hole cameras is one of the best things you can learn how to make, and probably one of the better things.

When I was in highschool I made a 3 lens pin hole camera, and I did so to create a effect in which I could manipulate which areas captured the most with appiture manipulation. Meaning I could open 1 lens for longer than the rest & the image captured would be more clear, change the image rotate the camera, and capture a different lighter image depended on lighting of another image, to produce a overlayed effect.

This could also be done with a single lens image to produce a blurish object multiple times by simply taking the same angle though and having a object in 1 place for x amount of time , then another spot for x amount of time.

Shutter speed is a concept of this with non-pin hole cameras to capture multiple frames of a image & place it over one another, something lost with most digital cameras. Some may try to emulate it but the result isn't the same.

Most things you can do with digital you were able to do with film it required a bit of creativity, thought out, and more than just point & click. Lighting was your best friend & worst enemy, often when you produced film you wouldn't know if there was anything wrong untill you produced a image often this would lead to a bunch of garbage takes, a few happy accidental mistakes, and perfect captures once in a while. This would require the photographer to think out how to do more effects rather than thoughtlessly capturing a image as is with its only priority being if it is center or not, which most digital cameras show you what you are capturing and put a box around it on the display to make even that easier for you.

But what should be grasped from here is that there is so much to producing film, that only one could experience it to see the differences from digital & film that is both lost & forgotten. Knowledge worth having in 10 folds to anyone who wants to go into anything camera related.

Itch.io intentionally misleads developers with marketing

As a developer who actually has games up on itch.io, when ever you go to view your dashboard to see the lists of games you have published up on the popular website, it tells you & greats you with "Hey! Did you know that itch.io currently takes no cut of any transaction? Pretty cool, enjoy the extra money.". This is entirely a misleading phrase spread constantly on the website, leading developers to jump on their band wagon, and users to expect all of their hard earn cash to go tors the developer.

As for each transaction between the user & developer, no cut is made from user to developer's percentage but rather a transaction from developers itch.io to their personal, company or shared account is slammed down with hidden fees, which itch.io misleads by claiming they make none of it as those fees cover more than those regular service fees for doing such.

For instance if you go through paypal they take $0.30+2.9% of EACH transaction, and inorder to make any sales on the site you have to set your minium really low regaurdless of the quality of the game, as titles I have worked on alone & with others on a massive scale as had to constantly be put lower & lower in price, with most of the "popular games" being that of free ones. Nearly every game sale is the bare miniumal regaurdless of what you offer as a ladder system.

Go with "Stripe" and it is literally the same exact amount, & same % and those are the only two services they offer, they do not allow direct deposits to avoid bullshit fees placed on transactions that would other wise be pointless in charging anything less than $0.35 with a audience that expects you to charge litterally nothing to at most $0.36 so the developer can scratch buy at $ 0.03 a sale & that is if they are lucky. Itch.io is making money by making paypal & stripe money in which invertedly pays them money through their bussiness dealings, which is where the 2.9% comes from. Which either way you look at it the developer gets screwed. If you are a user you hinder the developer if you spend less than $0.33 you got the game for free the developer made nothing & paypal|| stipe made $0.30 while  itch.io made ~3 cents if that. Which is why you have so many games that normally would be free being $0.50
