In the past few months I have been continuously working on project dreamout, a template to build games from for construct 2 I've been working on. It is taking my ADV Menu template, and going to the next level. It isn't just a controls system with text menus any more.
This week I have added custom mouse cursors that work regardless of browser, due to construct2 bugs with certain ones with its own custom cursor system I have managed a work around.
Along with that I have added achievement support for various platforms, a achievement prompt system that works between layout to layout even.
It also has a fully functional 2d & 3d menu system which can easily be used. The 3d menu system is done using the video functionality of construct 2, which means the game is loading a video rather than a whole bunch of objects in a 3d space. It is a easy way to fake 3d, granted there are ways to render 3d inside of construct 2 using webgl & additional plugins, various platforms do not actually support this including various websites.
Also I have started to add an easy to manage monitization system, but it is lacking web support for right now.
The game template now has a master include script that holds all shared preferences, this means the master template has to be included in every layout script, which means all the standardized code will work with it.
Right now the template is coded to support these platforms: Ouya(kinda), Android, iOS, Newgrounds(adless), Gamejolt(adless), Google play, Windows(*adless), Mac(*adless), Linux(*adless), ChromeOS/Chromebook(*adless), Websites(adless). Currently I am making a way to include ads into some of the adless, but certain platforms do not allow ads.
It has user customizable touch controls(placement wise), customizable keyboard controls, customizable gamepad controls.
This Dreamout template will be not just a update to the adv menu template, it is going to be sold seperately, at $9.99
It includes various custom made fonts, a PNG touch controls, 4 mini games showing how to use the controls, a custom mouse cursor, several generic sound effects, and much much more.
I plan on releasing this sometime in the fall of 2015, but it could take longer.
