Red-it Rigs steams summer event ruining it for everyone

In just a few seconds of reading anything on redit about the steam summer event 2014 you will find each team with descriptions and details of what days they are to win. Telling everyone to help with this because it will help everyone win. But who really is winning.... us the people who are not redit users or anything like that... nope...

In despite of what red-it users claim this event only benefits the top contributors of this event. Each top user is a higher ranking red-it user. The resources are spent countless on stealing points from other teams to setup and get around the placed on random team aspect. Its like this redit users are told what day they should help each team win.  They tell them it will help them when really it only helps out the top 30 people who contributed.

Knowing this only about 30 redit users can win each day, as real people who are actually trying to keep this event going in realism and fairly are basically robbed. Their team can't win, and neither can they get any of the free games valve is handing out despite of how many resources they try to throw to help their team win.

Redit rigged the event telling people to help so 30 people of each team can win. I believe all redit users that helped in this rigging should be banned from this event as they are breaking the whole point of this event. Making it impossible but the same top 30 redit members winning each time and now with valves work around they will continue to exploit it.  They really are not making the event fun for the rest of the people as they basically have cheated.

They ruined this event... so rather than the many being able to benefit only the few redit users can. The top redit users are scumbags and they should feel bad. All current winners with prizes of games are all TOP redit users and the same ones over and over again. They have socially engineered a large community to reek their in their benefits. I urge valve to take action eminently to get these bad cheating apples out of the bunch.

Island Of The Curse





A few months back I was working on this 3d platformer focused on exploration for a college project, it really didn't get far into it because of so many other things going on in my life. As of right now I have a 3d platformer game in which I don't know what to do with. It is very buggy, and it wasn't made well. It was rushed. I have a few cool things in it, but a lot of bad programming mistakes due to lack of knowledge of how unities physics worked.


I have created atleast 3 to 4 different player models since then, each time I made a new player model I had to re-create animations, player physics code, and re-position collision. After a while it wears you down. It is all because I can't import animations from milkshape 3d. Unity is good, its easy, but once you have a system and you need to change one small detail it seems to break everything. I'm burnt out.

This games project was unclear, I had long since forgotten what I wanted out of it, and to be fair creating every last asset was a pain and it was just me. I got comments from so many people on the graphics, and so many people downing it because of it.  This was my first unity game. It turned out bad... it really just seems people expect too much from developers now a days....

Steam Summer Team sales

The steam summer sales started yesterday and right off the bat I was confused by this concept of a team based event in which you would be randomly placed onto a team color in which got points based off a bunch of different things including market transactions, money in wallet, crafting badges, and other things I don't understand.

I got placed on the Red Team right away, and we were in last place and I was like what the crap....

For those who don't know I have over 500 games, and over 400 transactions through the market, mostly selling trading cards, and buying one every so often with the money I got from selling trading cards & booster packs. So I quickly got a badge with funds from items sold, which sold quickly within a day. Items that just sat on the market for months, sold.
Right off the bat this sale seems more like a money drainer than anything else trying to pressure people to spend more just to be on the "winning team". Spending $10 gets you 1 card.... voting gets you 1 card...

Basically on the market the cards are going for around 50 - 60 cents. Last years cards within a few months time ended up going as high as $1.50 and when last years event was going on it was around 40-60 cents as well. So I suggest those of you who want the badges get them now, and those of you who want to make a profit, save your cards for later. But those who want games sell your cards now and use that money to buy games.

After months and months of having a kinda unorganized assortment of content on this Blog I have decided to expand on it, and make seperate blogs for seperate projects, I can easily keep the content organized by doing so, keep change logs there, and inform people on massive updates and changes.

Skateboard Party 2: revenge of the Microtransaction



If you ever wanted a Tony hawk game for your phone well skateboard party 1 or 2 would be one of your choices or on your radar already if you haven't bought both of them already. In which then you would know everything I am going to say here. For those that don't know Skateboard party 1 was a tony hawk clone for smartphones and was on google play and what ever else. I got skateboardparty 1 on googleplay & skateboard party 2 on windows 8 store. It was Titled Mike V's: Skateboard party, which soon after its release they began working on DLC updates in which you can only get through micro-transactions, which included several levels.

After that they started to work on a sequel which is basically same game, minus Mike V and turning literally everything into micro-transactions. Want a skater better than MR.Default play the game for 3 hours trying to better Mr. Default so you can get enough points to get oh barely better than Mr. Default or hand over your life savings to unlock the other characters. One of the characters costs up to damn near $3 when you take ingame currency into real money conversion. Keep in mind none of these characters are not real life skaters, and their stats by default are rather bad.

You can get in game currency by playing. The higher the score you have in game the higher the points you get.But you literally have to spend all your points on stat upgrades to progress from level to level based on score goals. Literally when you start off with Mr.Default or  "Fred" - a man with tattoos and a golf cap on looking like he is a golfer and not a skater he is Way Way Way out of place.

This would probably be a decent game if the micro transactions were NON-existent and you either unlocked characters by fairly playing the game instead of grinding for points or forking over your wallet. The controls and level design is a whole other problem.

The controls using a controller are bad, but for touch screen controls they are decent, seeing how they are just copy paste job on that front from Mike V's skateboard party. Levels are not designed for combos there is no lines just one or two edges in each level you can grind, flip trick, grind and do another flip trick on and that is it.  Grabs don't do that much score wise in comparison.

Mike V's had better level design, some looked like they where for entirely different games, and when you get far into the game you have to do these massive combo's according to the goals but there is literally no way to do them without manualing, in which is damn near impossible to do. A few levels look like they are for entirely different games with barely anywhere to do tricks on, and these are later levels with higher score requirements to proceed with the game.

Which there idea of secret levels are ones in which you unlock by only spending a rediculus amount of in game currency. Micro-transactions the game with bad controls that is what this game is.

I give it 5 kicks in the balls out of all the kicks in the balls that have ever happened and will ever happen.

Nintendo e3 2014 presentation easily one of the best

Stepping away from the unnessary live winging it presentation Nintendo continues to put out Nintendo Directs, with each one being better than the last Direct. Showing games and presenting information in a more controlled and refined process of video presentations. This is something they should continue and Sony and Microsoft really should take notes instead of winging their presentations for the furture.

So many times has Microsoft just wang it and hoped the people liked it while people literally putting their audience to sleep, so has sony a few times but Microsofts presentations is the yearly laugh at how dumb they are. Milo anyone?....

What Nintendo Did right:
-Refined Video Presentation
-tournaments
- Advertising their events and what they were doing at E3 a head of time with the help of youtubers
- Bring in people like the animators of Robot Chicken
- Show games in a cinematic way with gameplay and trailers, and go deep into details into games to bring actual interest, and show it at the same time.

What Nintendo Did Wrong:
-Mixed audio translations: it was synced for some parts and others it wasn't, others had subtitles.
-Showing the dev kits off in a few shots confused some gamers I know in whom I was watching it with. Most of them thought they were playing the nintendo games on a PC.
- A few people went off for a very long time without showing some small details.
- Obvious translation issues, one developer said their controls were fluid and it was translated into intuitive. It sounded like he was being snotty and hyping up a simple idea of a control scheme because of the translation.

Retron 5 pushes into android

With the retron5 being finnally released it pushes closer and closer to android like systems instead of just a clone system. The clone systems are becoming so different now a days, but other than a ROM ripper and playing off those roms on a emulator on a android like device. The problem I see with this is after you rip it the physical copy could no longer be needed, the only way around this is the fact that it rips the rom off the cartage every time you use it and shoved into Temporary memory such as ram.  Its a nice system if you ignore the faults.

It is HDMI only meaning you have to convert the signle to RGB with a converter box which most of those have color disorated.

It has no netplay, it is by all means a emulator, it is still trying so hard to be a console clone that it misses out of that major benefit while adopting others.

The controller design is terrible, lucky you can use some of the old controllers, but don't hope for lightgun they simply don't work, although there have been in the past light guns made for console clones years after a systems release. Nes addons and controllers that take up 2 controller ports probably wont work. Nor will rob the robot since he is basically a zapper with several motors attached. A lot of these console clone systems don't account for all of the controller pins. Only the ones used by standard controllers while addons take advantage of a extra pin or two.

To be fair there are a lot of good things to the system but things that have been pretty standard for some emulators for some time. Such as upscaling and filter effects. This one actually allows for filter effects that look better, but you can also configure sound which isn't something new to emulators but it is to console clones.

I really wish these companies would just make rom rippers at a affordable price, they would make my life so much easier. The rom rippers out there are so high in cost such as retrode. You can't even get them any more from their offical site, production has stopped, but the price for the entire time was outlandishly high without probable cause other than being one of the only multi system gamecart rippers out there with ease of use down to just slamming the carts in. With addons and accessories being high in cost as well as the base unit. You wonder why they failed.

It is still a good idea to move to a android environment for console clones, so they can do more than what the cartage slot games, and be in a user friendly environment. But it has a very very long way to go, netplay, web browsers, online social intergration, online game stores for homebrew, multiple selection for different emulation software than just stock. These are all things console clones going the android route really need.
