The Interview Review: GOP Terrorist lost the war

As I watched the events unfold before this movie was released I gazed at it with interest into what it exactly is, with the previews only showing clips here and there, I found it to be really interesting, like what are they going to make with Kim Jong-un and I found it rather a interesting idea. They didn't disappoint at all with those regards, they portrayed the North Koran dictator as a misunderstood leader, who is trying to fill his fathers shoes at the age of 31(probably not true). They spent a great deal of time showing this....
Back to the movie as a whole first though...

The movie has many repeating jokes, and uses them quite often such as honey pot, homophobia of what is and isn't gay, and many "racist" jokes which just end up back firing into the joke tellers face like karma bit them in the behind.

This movie has a lot of profane humor, and it is told like I should laugh at all of them like I am a 13 year old just finding out what sex is. To be honest most of these are just odd and out of place like they are trying to target adults but not adults at the same time, and that doesn't really work well in a movie that has actual nudity. If they released a slightly censored version of the movie like those nude scenes edited out I could understand it a bit more but a few happen at plot points, and future jokes would be ruined.....  That is a problem....

The having a introduction that just made me laugh my ass off, literally rolling on the floor laughing not because how off it is but because it had Eminem say something I don't think he would ever say but yes it was actually him. His part wasn't the only part that made me laugh there was several other jokes, all through out the movie that were really funny to me, yes some of them were sexual jokes but they were actually good, while others felt bad and missed like a 13 year old would joke about.

It really is a mixed bag, and many of the childish humor like the pointless chewing off the fingers gag to spray fake blood everywhere, to the constant sex jokes I can't see who this movie would be perfect for, but then again that could be my problem. Maybe it is just trying to target too many people at once, with its topic matter being serious, but being taken out of that serious scope, and joked about it in so many different ways. The whole movie is made to make people laugh, it is one big joke, and you know what it isn't bad, heck I would even go to say I found it to being good, not best movie ever but it is really funny in the end.

Was it worth insane North Korea supporters(possibly North Korea themselves) hacking Sony, and threatening terrorist attacks, Hell no, if anything you Honey-combed I mean potted it for people to watch it more than you will have ever hoped you crazy nut jobs you. You gave the people you attacked more money by doing your actions, and now people are going to watch it just because you tried to censor it out while they still can, because you had to try to ruin comedy for everyone.

Was the movie bad, No, it had legitimate moments that made me laugh, and cry while others just felt odd and out of place.  This movie is definitely worth a watch at least once, and only if you are a adult without a stick up your  bum.

for those with stick up bum and support GOP:

Generic Blah blah blah score of official blah blah blah: 10/10 nah its about a 6.5

Youtube threatens me: GameDev Tycoon: LJN Adventures

They are threatening to take my channel down over this video, they are claiming it isn't fair use, and that I have some how violated copyright law..... I have been bullied by youtube for too long, much longer than most of these "partners" that have been getting the benefit of the doubt for years. I pulled most of those vidoes but I am sick of pulling my own videos because youtube wants to abuse small guys like me. The last video I pulled was a video showing off gameplay of a game I made, with music that I made that Sony Online Entertainment claimed ownership over, and I lost that dispute despite none of it belonging to them.

How to Record Gameplay On Old Consoles Cheaply

This video will show you how exactly to play and record games off your PC. Games such as Sonic 3 will be fun to play and record from your home console genesis hooked up to your PC.

There is various different methods of doing something like this, there is capture cards, tv turners, and various other devices. many have different Video Input systems, this video will only cover the Encore Elelectronics Audio/Video grabber found here:http://www.encore-usa.com/ca/product/ENMVG

I find that capture cards work best for recording but not for playing games off for your pc.
Download for ArkSoft Total Media 3.5: http://arcsoft-totalmedia.updatestar.com/

VLC Media player is also another option for devices like this which you can download here:

Games Coming Soon

For a while I have been making progressive updates to my adv menu template, which is mostly game engine level stuff, it is rather very generic re-usable code that could be implemented into just about any game. If you want to know more about it click here: https://www.scirra.com/store/royalty-free-game-templates/adv-menu-templates-429. It just had a major update, and a price drop, so I hope for some more support on that end. If you need any help just post a comment here or email me, through the contact information here.

But be sides that I have really just been planning out parts of a game, not really constructing the idea as a whole, without plot and story coming to mind, just how the gameplay should be. With different ideas from level to level without changing the game too much over all. I have a few assets made and complete, maybe after polish might be needed.

There will definitely be some form of 3d going on with this game mixed with 2d elements. Maybe not at the same time but still none the less.

There is still a lot of planning that needs to be done over all, but I think I know at the very least the gameplay mechanics I want to achieve, and how long the game should be. A lot of it doesn't really have terms to describe them at this point so trying to seems rather pointless. There will be definitely some experimentation with this one, right now I just have a project name which I don't feel I should say yet due to trademark/patent trolls. Names are not really that important till you have at least a half complete project anyways.

Retrolink USB adapter/hub windows 8 issues

The retrolink usb adapter is a amazing device, it allows you to plugin and use a snes controller to play your PC, and emulated games. It works amazing for android games as well. When plugging it into a windows 8 machine it registers the dpad as a analog stick with digital input. left and up does not work because it goes out of range and into a deadzone. The issue is you can not fix this. You can not set the values it registers as it.

Game awards 2014: It's Hogwash

This wasn't the only game, many games won awards that were not even out yet, and nominated for awards..

It is really just messed up, and really it is bad that they only picked out titles that really were not on WiiU, and you can tell it was on purpose.

GameJolt Releases 11/25/2014

I have been releasing some of my games on gamejolt, I just released 2 of my older games on there, one from 2013, the other from 2011 I want to say. I will be trying to find some of my older games and releasing them on gamejolt. A lot of games have either gone because broken hard drives, or are backup on storage devices or locations I have not really been in a long time. Some are on cloud storage services I no longer use, and ftp servers I no longer use. I will try to recover them and release them in what ever state they are in.

The two games I released are

Bug crusher extreme
And

Lost temple textbase adventure

there is a graphical version but it is incompatible with py2exe because of livewires. I will try to set something up for this.

indies vs pewdiepie gamejam plans

I'm plan on participating in the game jam right now I am only thinking I will be doing it using construct 2, spriter, papagayo, gimp, and bfxr to make a simplistic game in the 72 hours time limit.

Right now I am just getting use to the tools I havn't used (spriter, papagayo, & bfxr) but I have been in events like this before with less time to finish a game, so hopefully I do better. If anyone wants to form  a team or be a part of mine I am open to it, but I should be fine on my own either way.

We are not allowed to start development till the time starts so keep that in mind. I am doing this for the fun of it, and every thing in this game jam is suppose to be free games as it is a gamejolt event. How ever we can use previously made scripts, tools, library's, or plugins. All the art and sound has to be made during the gamejam. This is actually the hard part, next to programming the whole thing.  I have a plan how I could do this entirely on my own with past experience with game jams.

I will be trying to stream this whole experience aswell, I am not sure weather I will do it on youtube or on twitch.

Spriter first animation I made with it.

I know it looks weird but its me trying to learn the program.
It works similar to 3d modeling software but for 2d images.

Projared steals criticism from Metacritic: Sonic BOOM

So sonic boom was released and apparently a lot of reviewers were mad because they had to buy the game like everyone else because no review copies were handed out in response to the sonic lost world reviews all being terribly bad without legimate reasons, most calling sonic lost world a mario galaxy rip off cash in with terrible controls. So basically all the people they handed review copies out to shat on the game, ask them now though and I am sure they will say sonic lost world is amazing, they did the samething with generations, colors, sonic 4, and so many others sonic titles. They print out terrible review compare it to terrible game, and try to soak in the views off the negative attention they get from their fans, and the people who actually played the game telling them they are wrong.

So a few reviewers such as Projared who commonly copy paste reviews have resorted to copy pasting metacritic user reviews made on the game within the first 10 minuets of the game being released, most of which were saying the game was bad, saying the graphics are ps2 level and that the wiiu is terrible.

I made a joke video prior to jarreds review making fun of the metacritic reviews and someone raged at me saying how dare I make fun of Projared.  So I looked at his video and lone and behold he litterally copy pasted remarks made off of metacritic calling the game sonic 06 bad, saying that it is ps2 level graphics, complaining about the frame rate, saying it runs at all times lower than 15 frames a second while showing gameplay footage that is between 30-60 frames a second. Complaining about unimportant background textures that you can only see the graphical issues with it when you zoom the camera up real close like, all there. Complaining that there are game breaking glitches without being able to point out a single one.

Using gameplay footage of other people's play throughs without giving credit but when he was with screw attack he went after people who did commentaries of their reviews pulling their videos down for doing the samething basically.

He further insinuated that all exploration games are bad just to try to justify his claims of it being sonic 06 bad, shitting on games like Banjo, Crash, Spyro, Jak & Dexture, and much much more simply to try to call this game bad rating the game a 2/10.

I use to watch his videos but his reviews went all down hill since he left screw attack being way off, and not really consistant like he was copying them from elsewhere instead of actually playing the game and experiencing it for thimself.

If you want my opinions on the game I actually wrote a review, and posted it to metacritic precompletion because I enjoyed the game. I'm not saying the game is not bad or good, I am saying his reasons for it are that of from metacritic, literally paraphrased from it actually, made by bullshit reviews of the game. So much so I can make fun of the metacritic reviews and his fans get upset and think I was targeting him. I generally dislike most sonic games, and give plenty of them negative reviews, but I don't resort to stealing criticism from others.

Bfxr Make Sound Effects Review

For the longest time I have been making sound effects with software like golden wave, and music creator 6, not till now have I experienced a simplistic sound editing tool, each one has been over conflated with a lot of bells and whistles with very little control. Sure I could make music with those software but there comes a time and need for simplistic game sound effects, and I think that is where Bfxr exceeds the most. It is a sound effect tool that makes game sound effects that is free to use for any purpose. I can't highly recommend it enough.

Review: Sonic Boom, spoiler free

This game is almost up to crash bandicoot and is the closest thing to a modern interperation of it with sonic characters.

Personally over the years it has been discouraging to actually even try to make a game that pleases people because people feel they are so entitled as to think they are always right, nitpicking every small detail without looking at the bigger picture. No this isn't a 2d sonic game, no it isn't a sonic adventure game. The game was made by X-naughtydog employees, it has that naughtydog feel like racket & clank, and crash bandicoot.

The major problems with the game and rushed review's issue:
It is focused and centered at the very begining with extremely rushed stages, and a rushed tutorial, this whole section of the game is not a good interduction a lot of it could have been removed, and or edited down to not convilute and confuse the gamers. For instance the opening cutscene was entirely pointless and should have not been there, they should patch that whole scene out of the game, it just confuses people more.

Most of the reviews I see now a days just take a look at the first level maybe and poop out a review with a bad review score thinking they will get more views that way.

When you look at this game not as a sonic gotta go fast game and look at it as a naughtydog game which if it was it would be ps4 exclusive hyped up by sony fans.

Ps4 fanboys we all know you wrote alot of reviews simply because it wasn't on the ps4 and would be hyping up like it is the holy grail of gaming if it was, especailly if it had "Naughtdog" slapped on it.

As for the review:

Gameplay:

The gameplay isn't like the standard sonic game were you just run fast with high flying action of player NOT the hell in controll, instead in this game it is a action platformer with exploration elements, with a combat system of 2 different types of attacks. A standard attack every characters is different, and a special attack. The special attacks for some characters seem really useless like knuckles break dance attack range is too small to actually hit anything without getting hit yourself. While sonics special attack actually is more of a combo move where there is 2 varients with feed back that feels like you are doing a lot more damage, thus more rewarding to do.

It is a more action adventure game that will leave you exploring but disappointed there are not enough secrets which causes you to search and look deeper for secrets instead of instant gradification like in other sonic games. It does treat you like you are dumb giving you tutorials and walks you through but only after the fact that you needed to know what it is you are suppose to do. Then at other times it nags you to do something you done a million times, and this is in the very beginning of the game.

About half way through they stfu, and you can actually play the game and have some fun, there are some puzzles that it actually does the right thing and doesn't tell you jack crap which can leave some people confused because they thought game was going to play them and not them play game.

Each character has their own abilities which are necessary to use to progress through the game, sometimes with additional puzzles, sometimes not.

They through in some batman like detective mode to make it easier to find the secrets but if you have played games with many secrets you should be able to instinctively know where they are. A few I missed though.

But for gamer's it should be fun, unless they are whiny entitled dinguses.
Voice acting: terrible... oh you want more to know on it well the voice... sonic + voice acting = always bad especially when you treat the gamer like they are stupid. Voice acting for the purpose of story mmmk, voice acting to tell me what each character is doing without telling me what they are doing BBBBADDDD...

There is upgrades and power glyphs, power glyphs are bonuses like more coins, more robot parts, more damage items that you can only equiped one at a time to each character. Upgrades are gotten through collecting enough crowns and robot parts, and can be found at upgrade stations.

Multiplayer:
this is a very 2 player co-op centered game but apparently there is a 4 player challenge mode I havn't gotten around to it.

Level design:

It is amazing you can clearly tell it is reminised of both spyro and crash bandicoot, many people were complaining saying the 2d sections are just trying to be like sonic generations and crap like that but they have 3d to 2d to 3d with levels designed exactly like crash bandicoot at parts and other parts were they were layed out exactly like spyros.

The bad:
Worst part of the game: Requires 3ds version of the game to unlock larger "wallets" which means more coins because you can only collect 100 coins and that is it. Coins are treated as health in this game so that is obviously a very flawed thing with this game which is why I am rating it so low unlike most of the whiny bastards on here without a actual legiment complaint about the actual game.

The best:
It reminds me a lot of the older crash bandicoot games mixed in with spyro with some racket and clank elements added on to it. The gameplay is solid while the story is bbbbbaddd, mostly due to the some of the voice acting and how many cut scenes are there in the beginning, some of the new characters are decent. The gameplay is solid but it really isn't the standard sonic game which doesn't make it a bad game.

It is a amazing game with amazing combat with amazing level design and amazing music, just terrible story, terrible voice acting, and not what the nitpicker army expected and even if it was they would still find problems with  it just because.

Summary:
It is a crash bandicoot meets racket & clank game staring sonic characters.

Score 7/10 apple bites

TF2 Rare ODD Level Items

During the early days of team fortress 2 items had levels, levels were as arbitrary as they are now but they were not always a set level, most of those items were crafted how ever and destroyed or sold and levels reset.

Despite the desperation to sell these items I have kept a few, and seem to can't let go of.
Some I have sold though, One recent one was a level 34 vintage special killstreak Ubersaw

On doing so the level was reset to 10 on listing making them virtually less valuable.

While others I completely forgot that I had.

Nintendo Eshop is down

It is down today for "maintenance", they were having a Halloween themed eshop for a while with insane deals. I just got on to day to see if any of the deals were still going on but now I can't tell if they are or are not.

Review Nintendo eShop - Costume Quest 2

Costume Quest 2 is a sequal to costume quest, this game starts off where the other one ended. Within the first 5 minuets you will get bumped around a lot and it seems they are trying to do too much too quickly for you to be able to fully asorb what is going on if you go the rate the game expects you to. Costume quest 1 had me taking as long as possible exploring every inch of the screen for secrets and goodies, talking with NPC's provided a lot of help in costume quest 1, in this one there is a lot of useless NPC's so the exploration seems a bit more toned down. They still do have secrets but it wasn't anywhere near the same.

The game still brings that costume quest fun, it still has the same battle system but with different costumes with different ablities one of the first costumes you get is a super hero and a peice of candy corn. The candy corn can not attack, has no special ablities other than being a shield as it blocks better and takes less damage but can't do anything in battle but block.

It is very fun, just like the first game, it just has a few problems.

Final UPDATE: Construct 2 ADV Options template Pack

Nearly complete with this template project, only thing left is a simple main menu and making a template package with combined form factors. This combined template will be a large amount of events FYI but it will make games much much easier to make without having to worry about settings as much.

Read more on what it exactly is here.

(edited Now the main menu template is complete now just working on combining it all together. to make a master template containing all of the templates rolled up into one to make it even easier on the users)

PS I am lowering the cost on these templates to a total of $7.99, reasoning is it will for the most part require personal licences at the very least for many of the templates.

pixel art pratice

Lately I have been trying to step forth into the pixel art style, I am thinking of doing a retro style game, or atleast graphics wise. Right now I have been just practicing though because I am unsure. Here is a cat, and the basics of a man. The cat is actually based off one of my cats.

UPDATE: Construct 2 ADV Options template Pack

Recently I have been working on a series of templates for contruct 2: read here for previous post about it

Currently I have the screen shot manager ,  and  character creator template complete.I have the controls manager nearly complete.
I am hoping to get a basic menu manager complete as well soon, as well as video options, as soon as all of them are finished it will packaged together to be on scirra's store for 6.25GBP or $10.08, it will include the source code and a sample game. THIS template may  require a personal licences or higher to operate effectively.

Each template has its own versions, some try to keep it under 100 events, these are slim down versions that may nor support gamepad. Most however support gamepads. Not all templates will be compatible with the free version of construct. I will be trying to setup other means of getting the templates as well.

There will be also a bundle option to bundle it with Bus Driver 2d experience rush(game), sprite coin font, and skimbob's gone fishing(game with source).

Construct 2 Arrays are ODD, and force 3d arrays on devs.

They make it difficult to provide feedback with their software on their website, and anytime you do you are ALWAYS greeted with someone telling you are doing it wrong even when you are doing it correctly, and not actually telling you how to do it.

Construct 2 has this issue right now in the LATEST VERSION AT THE TIME I AM PUTTING THIS OUT. Where when you try to populate a Array with any data it doesn't do anything, it doesn't populate it if you push, insert, or set at. Instead you are greeted with a array that looks something like this:

{"c2array":true,"size":[2,16,0],"data":[[[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[]],[[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[],[]]]}

to solve this issue you have to have it in 3d array format all with atleast 1 storage in them.
This means you have to have a height of 1, width of 1, and depth of 1, to have a functional array.

Now in terms of programming a array can be higher than 3d.
If you want a 2d array in construct 2 you have to have it 2width,2hieght,1depth at bare minimal.

This is just mind blowly dumb because if you want a 2d array you should only have to worry about x & y not z. just as if you want a 1d array you should only have to worry about x.
I wouldn't find a issue if they spewed a error stating that any of the size limitations to have a useable array has to be greater than 0.

Bayonetta 2 Unboxing #OperationPlatinum

So Some youtuber named Doctre81 hyped up this game for nearly a year, talking about how he was going to get it day 1, and hyped it up like he was going to do videos covering it.

Other people like me &  TheBlackBarron picked up the slack it looks like:

Now I ask if Nintendo fans are going to hype up a movement like operation platinum, and try to push for 1 million sales then they need to act on what they try to push. It is clear people like DocTre81 push stuff that they themselves don't want to follow.

The goal of operation platinum is to show that a Mature Rated game can sell well, this effort was made to counter claims made by publishing studios such as Ubisoft. http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/19/watch-dogs-is-ubisofts-final-mature-game-on-wii-u?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+ign%2Fnews+%28IGN+All+News%29

Construct 2 ADV Options template Pack Coming soon.

Right now I am currently working on a small template pack that will hopefully be useful for others. As of right now it will contain a paint/create a character template, a snapshot manager template, a custom controls template, video & audio settings template and a options template.
It will be sold on scirra's store as soon as finished. This will  be useful to anyone using contruct 2 to create a pc title that wants to allow user options. On a side note it does how ever take up nearly 100 events for several of the templates. some will offer a slim down version.

Keep in mind for the controls template to be usable you need to implement it in your games, simply replacing where you would put input methods with on function called events.

Tweeking will need to be done to fit certain games as not every game is the same.

What these templates aim to do, be functional, and helpful while allowing some user control over the games.

Each template supports various different input methodss, really should not be ignored. Each act independent of each other as of right now, may create master template where I try to put them all in together as 1 template, while keeping the sub templates. Only thing is users will have to read the readme to understand how to use each template.

May also offer sample of a in use application.

Please note I have not yet decided a price fully yet as I am no where near complete. It probably will be bundled in with my other scirra store content though.

Wiiu Pro vs Pro controllers

In modern gaming it is apparent that nearly everything looks like something else. Now to day I am going to compare the WiiU Pro controller made by Nintendo and the Controller Pro U made by Interworks.

How I plan to break this comparison down:
first functionality
second performance
third ascetics & feel,
fourth conclusion

Functionality

The WiiU Pro Controller functions as its own controller, it doesn't function as a classic controller, and has very mixed support. In some games that you would think it would work like Sonic Lost world it doesn't work at all, while in games like zombiu it is only functional in online play apparently. Forget using it in games like Nintendo land. It works well with virtual console games, and is hit or miss with the rest. Also the WiiU pro controller is entirely non-functional in the wii menu.

Functionally wise the Controller Pro U works as a Wiimote and a classic controller, it claims to function as a Pro controller but doesn't. It is supported in any game that has classic controller support, or wiimote support. So again for games on the WiiU it is a hit or miss. It works with games like nintendo land, but doesn't work in games that the pro controller is the only other option like Hyrule Warriors. On the biggest positive side it works seemlessly between the Wii & WiiU menus and options, along with working with all your wii games.

Performance:

The WiiU Pro controller is very responsive, every button you press so long as you are in range and no wireless interference is going on it will do so right away. Keep in mind the range is bluetooth range, I was able to play my games up to 20 feet away. The battery life is long but no where near the 80 hours people will claim it is. First time I used it was around 80 hours, but the first time it died after that and I had to recharge it it has been on average 25 hours. Still the controller responds good, and functions well at what it is suppose to do.

Performance of the Controller Pro U as a wiimote is a bit odd it really falls flat, it feels very unresponsive as a wii mote with tilt controlls in a game like Mario Kart 8 but then again tilt controls in that game in general are off, but it is just mulitipled with this controller. First of off it has 2 different options for Tilt, controls in which you can switch the axises required to rotate on the back of the controller. Labeled "Normal" and "Custom". As a Wiimote it is a Miss but it gets you through annoying menus required to play your games. The buttons kinda are off simply because it is trying to imitate a wiimote, so in certain games you get weird controls. It works fine in some wii games with small amounts of motion. Battery life I will get into soon...

Performance of the Controller Pro U as a classic controller is amazing, its buttons are very responsive just like the Pro controller, same range, and its battery life is not as good but it still isn't terribly bad on average about 20 hours. In mario kart 8 it functions just like the WiiU pro controller and it works seemlessly  and the same in the Wii games as it does the WiiU games as a classic controller.  This whole part makes up for the wiimote problems.

Ascetics & Feel:

The WiiU pro Controller is a baterang shaped controller with smooth edges, many people call it a 360 controller knock off without looking into the fact that the 360 didn't invent the analog stick, 4 face buttons or pretty much anything about the controller, other than its shape which they still would be wrong. 360 controller has no gripping, WiiU Pro controller does, it actually fits in the hands of non-deformed baby handed people. Feel wise for me it is nice, the button and analog stick layout is useful.
The only issue with the layout is it feels odd using the right analog stick, but if they were to switch the analog stick with the face buttons like many 360 gamers complained about then the dpad would feel out of place and basically not useful like it was on the 360, along with it feeling weird in older VC games it would just break them basically if you were to do 360 controller layout. It feels a lot more nicer than the 360 gamepad and it is a shame it gets compared to such a terrible controller as the 360 controller anywhere you look.

Both the WiiU Pro controller and the Controller Pro U look nearly identical. The main differences appearance wise is the Controller Pro U lacks the WiiU logo, its Select, Home, Start, and power buttons are placed higher to add a second select and start button. Also the Controller Pro U has a snes looking bottom middle thing sticking out of it to make it look like a snes controller. The controller is also slightly smaller around the gripping area and feels more or less more boxy than the Pro Controller because edges are not as smooth, but it isn't unbearable it is just small nitpicking at that point.

Conclusion:

The WiiU Pro Controller definitely has less flaws but has less functionality support wise.  It costs more, feels better, Performance wise it is better in nearly every way. But the Controller Pro U functions as a wii mote and a classic controller while bringing a WiiU Pro controller Like aspect and costs less. Support wise for WiiU games it is a hit or miss but so is the pro controller.

I would recommend having both but if you are on a budget definitely pick up the Controller Pro U as most games with Pro Controller Support function with the game pad, unless you know the game only supports Pro Controller and you are looking to play with friends then get the Pro controller.

And Geeze it is confusing keeping track of everything, Pro Controller, Controller Pro....

Coin font is here

The image above is a highly compressed image, it is distorted due to file size limitations are on scirra's website.

I recently released a sprite font for construct 2 users on scirra's website here: https://www.scirra.com/store/royalty-free-sprite-fonts/coin-font-392
I spent several weeks working on it and I hope people enjoy it. It costs $1.59 or £0.99.

The characters are 48x48 but have spacing of 64x64 due to how construct 2 works. You have to do -15 character spacing to use it but it contains all of the characters that the standard sprite font does.

ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZabcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz0123456789.,;:?!-_~#"'&()[]|`\/@°+=*$£€<>

I made each and every last pixel in each character I had drawn, no copying of another font and no trace work.

I hope you enjoy.

Releasing games

I know I said I was done with PC but I am releasing some of my older games on itch.io and scirra store. Along with a spritefont I made. I am going to get working pretty soon on a large title for me soon and I am hoping to get a means of income in the mean time. So I hope people enjoy some of my older games in the mean time. I will be looking for suggestions of other places to put my games aswell, the issue is many store fronts lie about percentage taken and many force thresholds on a monthly bases.

working on some spritefonts for construct 2

I am sure it would work with other engines too but I am just primary making it for construct 2 and it will be soon available on the scirra store with some improvements, and some slight alters.

Why I am done developing for PC & android.

Next game I'm going to try to make it be a WiiU game, maybe other platforms MAYBE.
But it is still in pre-alpha stages of actually planning it and how it will be made.

This isn't something meant of malicious intent to belittle a platform it is a explanation of why I am done with it. This has been years of suffering for me to struggle with dealing with. If you don't like what was said I am sorry, I am trying to be honest and describe it from my perspective, not a act to misrepresent PC gamers or the PC platform.

This is not a excuse for a hidden agenda or propaganda to push the WiiU or some other console on people, this is actuality.

This is reality people some people just don't profit from making PC titles, they are shoved at bottom of lists and ignored because the hype train wasn't pushed by some gaming journalist site, who only seeks profits from it.

PC & android Elitists and fanboys read at your own risk:

The games I have made on PC have sold abysmally, so low and it is because there is so much composition, not to mention just the viewings of the games on store fronts. And unless you make it on steam you are screwed even if you are selling your game for as low as $0.50, on itch.io. If you try to do the freemium way with ads you get screwed over BIG time. They make a lot more money off of you then you do, to the point of if you made your game 1/1000 of a cent per user you still would be making more money.

Most of these "indie" developers really are not indie that are making it on steam, they have a publisher, a backing of some kind. Some are but a lot are not, and the ones that are have to put A LOT more effort than the ones that are not really indie game developers and get little pay off for doing so.

If I was to continue developing for PC and android and kept the same flow of income it would take me nearly 10 years just to pay off the cost of a single game. I am sure sweatshop employees over seas in some third world country made more in a week to a month than I have making PC and android games, and I have been at it for years. Only reason I haven't stopped is I enjoy doing it but it takes its toll.

It is not all what people make it out to being, most store fronts take a HUGE chunk of each sale, even the ones that claim they are being generous, taking 30%-50% then claiming they will promote your games but never do. To them they just shove developer's games down a list. The only successful ones are the ones that crap out low quality games on a monthly bases with unfinished games. That isn't even going over thresholds, in which if you are lucky to ever get paid with those systems. Some even are made specifically for them to money farm off your game and NEVER pay you.

Then when you try to get on stores like steam you are greeted with elitist type of attitudes and before they even look  at your games during the publishing process they are belittling you and your work,  offering you nothing but to be shoved at the bottom of a list  and never heard from again, unless some xmas sale goes on in which you get extremely lucky and BUNDLED in with other games that were also LUCKY in hopes someone might buy your game. Only to make jack and crap from the sale.

And you are not going to make it on steam unless you have a lot of marketing money, and hype levels so high.... The games I made for mobile have not sold period, because unless it is flappy bird, or some game with a lot of marketing money behind it doesn't sell, unless it is some kind of emulator with a large community behind it pushing for it, in which in some cases die almost as spontaneous as it arouse from in alpha stages or pre-alpha stages.

And NO this isn't the perspective of a entitled developer demanding money, I understand that my games are not AAA quality so I shouldn't expect AAA sales, but single digit sales for several months... then nothing.... I'm just being honest. Even the free games do terrible because of it, yes you could argue well people are just not interested in my games, I would agree with you that I made games for a nitch market but not that nitch of a market of non-existent.

And Never mind gaming journalism they don't care unless they can make a LOT of money at the expense of the suffering of others or misinforming them just to get more of that ad revenue.

I just want to make games, make people entertained, and PC isn't viable for someone in my position any more, it was maybe 2-6 years ago but it just isn't any more. Maybe if things change for me in the future and if it changes on PC.
Any side projects or teams I work with outside of my own work will not be effected. Past or mid development games won't be effected either.

Hotmail, Live, Outlook.com and the rest of Microsofts email systems are a joke.

I usually solve most of the computer related problems in my family, and close circle of friends. When ever they have a problem they call me, email me, or send me a message. Over half the time it is over their emails and not being able to access them. With microsofts support they are no help what so ever when you contact them.

Most of the time it is a matter of "security" and their excuse for having your private information in which they share and sell is that it is "security". Most of my friends and family get locked out of their accounts when they type their information in wrong or simply can't remember the password, and now they have security measures from if you login with a different IP address restricting you and locking you out of your account.

This protection measure really isn't good either since it only is with their website but if a hacker was using a email client software they wouldn't need to worry about that security code, along with that they can simply brute force it so the security measure is nothing but a joke. Not to mention the security measure can be abused through their website to lock people out of their email accounts and this has happen to a few people I know. Meaning they act as if they have a lot of security but they really don't, they just act that way for you to give up personal information.

I personally have had problems with their Hotmail Customer service were my account was shut down simply for receiving too many emails, most of which was from Microsofts Target Market Algorithms based off emails I receive and send and information sold to advertisers. I only used that account to sign up for forums and services in which I made sure were to never email me.

To be fair their email services were good at one point but now they really are not good at all.

I suggest anyone with one that isn't willing to give up personal information or is not tech focused or simply don't have the patience to deal with terrible customer service and needless security measures that only restrict you then  I suggest you switch email service providers.

How To Setup your tablet or phone for your kids, Nexus 7

I hope this video is found to be useful many people have asked me on how to do this over the last several months. I personally have set it up for my family members this way as well.
This recording was done on a Nexus 7, but you can do this on any newer android devices 4.4+ devices.

I guess this isn't supported in earilier android versions becuase my 4.0.1 cellphone either is modified android thus not having it or it just was added in recent android versions.

Construct 2 Tutorial Screenshots Canvas Snapshots

Canvas Snapshots are a very useful thing to construct 2 there is actually a lot of uses you can do with them, I am just going to go over some basics here. I hope you enjoy and maybe learn a little bit from it.

I recently used functionality of snapshots in my game Bus Driver 2d experience rush.|

Sales Numbers of Bus Driver 2d expeirence rush

2....
Only 2....
despite putting it on sale... for 25% - 33% for weeks...
despite trying so very very hard to put out a game.
Only 2 sales have been made across the board.....

This is very depressing.... I don't know what to do with my life...
I have been making games for so long, none of them going anywhere.
I finnally put one of my projects up for sale and only 2 sales.... D:|
My older games I put up on gamejolt and even that hasn't gone well for me.
It always seems like the world is against me.

vs 2013 WTF Microsoft

So apparently not even a year later ms vs 2012 was out dated apparently... They released a new visual studio in 2013 right after they released visual studio 2012. 2012 is for windows 8... 2013 is for 8.1.... They still forced 2012 users to REBUY the same peice of software with a few small very very small minor tweeks.
This is down right retarded.... It is required for construct 2 to use webgl something they had in 2012 but took out because $$$. The stupidity of this is just to great....
fuck you microsoft.... I don't understand why anyone hasn't down right boy cotted or even reported in on this load of horse fuck releasing a new visual studio every year now... Its $300-400 peice of software the least you can do is update it instead of holding those updates hostage for another $300-400....

GameJolt publishing to is really easy

Recently I have been porting all my old construct 2 games to gamejolt, I found it to be really quickly and really fast to do. So far it has a rather large userbase and many of the games I made have already been played more than on google chrome, or windows 8 store in just a few days in comparison to a year and 3 months.

I have gotten more feed back aswell from them as well.
The achievement system and highscores system is really really simple to add into your game once you install the construct 2 gamejolt plugin.
Here are just a few of the games I made and have up on game jolt:

Bank Robbery Drop

Death Smash Crash

Run over as many people as possible before you are out of time.

WiiU Reivews: The Letter

I have a first time expression video here:

Gameplay

General

The letter is a first person "horror" title that depends on the users imagination to create fear and fright, to create a conflict with the player.

Controls

A - interact
B - Jump
Y- Flashlight(useless to have off)
Left Stick - Move
Right Stick - Look

When looking for these things you will want to explore the game world, but there is only jump, flashlight, interact(only with items you can pick up),looking around, and move. The controls for moving is rather too precise, just trying to walk in a straight line is a challenge.  Looking around is inverted, and kind of the opposite it is sluggish which isn't bad in this use.

Story( Contains Spoilers)

For the most part I was confused on what the story was until I played all the way through it. You play as a child investigating the supportive death of your parents. You start at your home, then into a valley, then into a town, then into a medical place, and finally on a beach.

Your home

You have to find a "note".
There is a hidden note that explains your position but is hard to read unless you are playing it in HD, but even then is hard to read because it is a note on the floor and you have to be looking at it with no crouch or zoom button. This is not the note you are looking for but rather just something small there explaining. They are found through out the game as well just as hard if not harder based on placement.

The Valley

You have to find a "weapon", and 2 clues.
While looking around they have a wanted photo of someone, trying to make the player think this might be the murder. There are teddy bears saying "Help", they don't do anything but supposedly trying to scare the player....

The Town

You are looking for a key to open up the medical place.
There looks like a lot of stuff here but there really isn't much to explore, a lot of things don't make any sense what so ever when you read the signs.

The Medical place

Just wait.....
It is empty with a empty used syringe and blood stain slab. With a wall spray painted "Wait for it..".

The Beach

Look for a letter.
Once you get to the beach you are confused, and notice two large beach chairs on a empty island with trees, and a casibo... When you read the letter it says that your parents will be right back, and then you realize that the game was nothing but a dream...

Graphics

For a small game made by a single person I would not expect much on this end. That being said I am not against them in anyway just simple small things are off, such as proportions, things like on screen displays for letters would be nice even if it was just on the wiiu gamepad.

I understand that this game is based off a concept of dreaming but when the player is not dreaming there are things on the beach that are just way off. Small trees and large beach lay down chairs with a casibo that is barely taller.

Virdict

I don't feel right putting a score value on this title because been there done that....
The Eshop user rating for the game is a 2/5 when I did this review if you want a score.

Steam Music player finally...

So buying soundtracks for games for the longest time was a issue on steam, games would "include" them for extra fees but you would have to dig through files just to find them and most you could just rip from games anyways but it was a real problem when developers would encrypt their sound tracks that they "included" with a bundle at a higher price.
The other thing this is useful for is big Picture/SteamOS, it supposively grabs your music from your music library folder for your user and allows you to play them but over 1/2 my music isn't really showing in it so that functionality is lacking big time, granted I do have a collection of 14gb of just music. Steam seems to only think I have 63 albums including the games that apparently were suppose to include their sound tracks which only a few of them actually did. I have around 200 albums...
And steam isn't even showing all 63 albums it registers, it is only showing 32....

Memory wise it does better than chromes music player but it has more hick ups, and selecting all your music at once and trying to put it in a shuffle is harder....

As of right now it is in early phases and has a lot to improve on....

Steam Requires TAX information.... Valve is greedy as hell

If you sell a lot of items on steam you will notice that a warning message now pops up saying if you want to sell more than 200 items by the end of the year you will have to fill out some information. This information is for taxes... the problem with this is the fact that you never see any real money, the money is only for steam that you recieve thus valve always has that money you never really make a single cent.

To be taxed on income not received is purely asinine, it is to save valve money on money they make and doesn't really help the users by putting the blame on them for valve making hand over fists in micro-transactions. The only thing you are allowed to get valve bucks to trade in for items or games in which they take a small percentages from each transaction of those as well.

So you get taxed on the sales of each item, then they want to throw actual taxes on you because they don't want to claim the money they make from micro-transactions none of which the user sees the light of day of, they have to spend it on valves store and nothing else. This means it is entirely valves money not the users because the user can't access it. Why in the hell should any user be taxed for money they do not get.

Good places to release construct 2 games and some not so good.

So the last few weeks I have been working on getting "Bus driver 2d experience rush" published and released for the last few weeks and so far I have had different experiences with each platform and where.
As of right now the porting tools for construct 2 to android are kinda bad, I am working on finding a different way than phonegap, or cocoonjs because they are terrible, and that is half my problems with them.

This list is only based off what I have used so far, not to be mistaken for something else, and is not based off the most popular stores fronts unless they have a actual value of it.

But here are some of the good places to publish free games to once you have made your own game:

3.Scirra arcade, it is construct 2's arcade websiite which can bring a game some more attention than other places. More people will be willing to play your game on it more than likely.

2. GameJolt
It has built in leader boards, and trophies and gives you a percentage of ad revenue, and is somewhat popular, with unfinished games and finished games a like.

1. Itch.io
Your game doesn't have to be free, you can charge what ever you like and even implment a pay what you want service fee and incorperate the API into your game to charge in-game for it.

google play and chrome are decent places but from what I have seen from anayltics is that most of the downloads, and feed back comes from out of country, and usually it isn't helpful. But people do play. They are decent and there is a lot of places that are too. But they are not as good

Some of the worse:

3.Microsoft windows 8 store/phone:
They both have the same problems, they charge you to be able to publish your games, in which it is not self publishing. They run vigerious tests and depending on who is testing it they may even fail you simply because they don't like it, there is no refund, to even be able to do anything you need to pay them. Occasionally they do have events held but it costs $50 for a registered account for.

2.Ouya, simply because the lack of support from them, and cocoonjs & phonegap, if you plan on charging for your game you have to make $150 first to get paid. They feel they can have these types of policies because google play does it when they have a small limited number of active users and a small install base in which isn't willing to spend money on games and whines about how expensive games are, especially when they cost more than google plays but the $150 thing is probably to do with it, in which they don't even pay you until a month after the fact. I tried doing a beta release on it and tried charging $0.99 donations for it and only got 2 out of 130 downloads. $1.98 that ouya will have either for ever or they already spent it and have a I.O.U for me.

1. Amazon
Amazon is ok if you ignore their lack of respect for the consumers and sellers, and ignore their terrible customer service for both. They are really bad at it, AND if you plan on making any money off your games they will screw you over, they fuck over small developers massively, refuse to support them, close accounts, and placing restrictions on them over asking simple questions, and refuse to remove restrictions, and refuse you another account. They fuck you over, and try to steal the money your apps make off their store, all of it.

Amazon pulls a dick move for developers, they require they have a amazon account, a developer account, and a payments account. The payments account they have a identify verification system for, and it is used for transactions between you and amazon for developers and sellers. For a developer account they also require identity verification for tax information. For small time developers as soon as a game starts selling they sometimes pull their payments accounts claiming they could not find your information and verify it. Now the same information I used for taxes I used for payments account, which means they are either lieing or looking for information that is sold or attempting to sell, possibly credit scores as well. They refuse to tell you anything.

Here is their email refusing to help me, after I emailed their support staff and they refused to tell me anything about why my regular accounts are locked down, why my developer account is(couldn't even pull the games I put on their store), and wouldn't tell me why they are punishing me for asking questions to support about things that should be covered in support. Like when do I get paid for the apps sold, and them telling me I need a payments account but not answering why it was closed passed they couldn't verify the information when it was the same information I used for register taxes on my developer account.
"Dear Daniel,

I'm Anthony Gose of Amazon.com's Executive Customer Relations. Jeff Bezos received your email and asked me to respond on his behalf.

While I understand it’s disappointing we weren’t able to verify your Amazon Payments account, I want to assure you we aren’t selling your information. I regret we've been unable to address your concerns to your satisfaction; however, we'll not be able to offer any additional insight or action on these matters. Along with that they attempted to keep my apps up on their store while it raked in money until I threaten legal actions against them, then they pulled it and kept all the money from sales like the assholes they are. Fuck you Amazon....

At this point I have nothing nice to say to you.

I can't afford it, and even if I could I wouldn't spend it on your effortless services, anyone with a camera could do. BTW I have better gameplay footage of it than you could produce with a camera. Don't even bother trying to convince me it takes you a lot of work to produce a few minuet video and put a small 3-5 paragraph review up. You spent more time trying to convice someone who can not afford your services to pay for your services than it would have taken you to do said services.

Please stop trying, I am not your target market by a longshot. I follow the believe that word of mouth, is the only right way to market any product or service. Seeing how you demand money from the content providers put in very little effort into promoting them and charge them for a service of reviewing their product to the public I see it as immoral as you are being paid by the content provider to please the content provider and not to inform the public honestly and truthfully about the said product. I am also very poor and your target market is for people who have money and are willing to throw it around like its nothing, I hardly have enough to survive off of and conserve what little I get.

I have over 1k in downloads in total of all the platforms I released it on. That is more than I hoped for from a FREE app.

Hi,
I tried Bus Driving 2d experience rush, and I think it will be a big shame if you don’t use a video review to show features, since all of these great features will not be highlighted.
All successful apps have great video reviews:

Marble Blast 3: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbDVugwc62Q

We have helped a lot of developers make video reviews; they are very satisfied with the video reviews and even used them as their official videos on Google Play.
Downloads in the early launch period of an app will decide it’s ranking in Google Play, and for a games app like yours, it is quite possible to become popular over night if you take extra effort to promote your app with video review from third parties.
Would you like to make a video review to help viewers become users?

Hi,

I just thought I’d check if you had received my email few days ago. I wanted to make sure they went through and haven't heard back.

I think ' Bus Driving 2d experience rush ' is very nice, and you should show the great features it has to encourage everyone to download ' Bus Driving 2d experience rush '.

Could you please sent your feedback so we can discuss?

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the information you provided.

The design of "Bus Driving 2d experience rush" is excellent. I think it needs videos to highlight its’ unique features.

Sorry for the delay response, I have not been able to access my email for a few weeks, with several different emails.

I would like to make it available to as many users as possible.

The game was part of Microsoft's Keep the cash event, because of issues with registering for windows 8 store I was set back to developing 9 games within a month, June, I currently have it on chrome store, googe play, windows 8 store, and on my site with windows xp & up, mac, and linux builds.

I ended up using construct 2 to make all the games in the event, and it ended up being the 2nd game I had done using construct 2. The game's art work I had made in a couple days, and the game was done in 3 days. It took over a week to publish to windows 8 store, but less than a day to publish to google play and chrome store.

When developing it I was heavily inspired by games like desert bus, I know it sounds silly but its true. I looked at what was wrong with it, and how I could make it more enjoyable to play. Then I remembered playing shareware titles, I can not re-call the name of it but you would try to go as far as possible, and as you went along you would get gas to continue going, I enjoyed that. I also remembered Spy Hunter for NES was that way but with crashing and getting repaired by vans. I also wanted to have a bonus score system if you drove too close to other cars it would reward you with points as you pass them by, kinda like in crazy taxi but not the same at all. I was trying to have those capabilities without completely just doing a copy paste job of the games that kinda inspired and influenced this game.

I never intended to sell bus driver/driving 2d experience rush, nor any of the games involved with the event. It is definitly the most popular games out of the event I made no matter where I put it. But I have yet to get all the games from the event on android or chrome web browser. I am surprized by the out come, I made the game simplistic because I look for simplistic a games myself.

I hope this is enough information you are looking for a game made in such a short time,
best wishes,
Daniel Musial
